The sustainable future of our oceans:
             From the Arctic to the North Sea

The German Norwegian Ocean Forum 2019 (GNOF19) was jointly organized by the Norwegian Embassy, Innovation Norway and the Alfred Wegener Institute. For Norway and Germany the conservation and sustainable development of our oceans and seas, as well as their marine resource management are of particular importance in order to protect the future world oceans. The Forum addressed the sustainability of our oceans from a political, economic and scientific perspective.

Prof Dr Antje Boetius (Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research) and Lars Engelmann (Consultat at Norwegian Energy Partners) guided through the program of this Forum. Special guests were the Norwegian Undersecretary of State Mr Jens Frølich Holte, his Excellency the Norwegian Ambassador Mr Petter Ølberg and Dr. Regine Dube from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nucelar Safety.
