Arctic Frontiers: Moving North

                                           2 February 2023,

                                Tromsø, Hotel Clarion The Edge

Emerging Leaders is an early-career and mentoring program in the Arctic for young professionals from the academic, industry and policy sector. The program brings together leaders and mentors, and indigenous, business, and policy representatives, to tell the Arctic stories in an educational journey through Northern Norway. Through training, educational and cultural activities, and the contributions of competent and committed partners, the Emerging Leaders program serves as an international and cross-cultural platform for dialogue and exchange to support the arctic leaders of the future.

For the Session ”Relevance and career paths at the interface to policy – Bilateral meeting between the 2023 Emerging Leaders, science policy experts, economists and policy makers” we were pleased to welcome Antje Boetius (Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute), Mads Frederiksen (Director of the Arctic Economic Council), Malgorzata Smieszek (Political Scientist of the University of Tromsø) and Chloe Hill (Strategy Manager of the European Geosciences Union) as mentors. The session was moderated by Heidi Sevestre (Glaciologist at the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme) and Lisa Grosfeld (German Arctic Office at AWI).
