20th Arctic Dialogue

The 20th Arctic Dialogue was held in cooperation with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) on 29 November 2022 at the DGAP Office in Berlin. The overall theme of the meeting was the impact of the Russian war of aggression on arctic politics and the arctic research. The dialogue was organized into three parts.
The first part addressed the impact on arctic politics. This subject area started with a lecture by Dominik Mutter, Security Policy Director at the German Federal Foreign Office.
The second part dealt with the impacts of the Russian war of aggression on arctic research and began with an overview lecture by Prof. Dr. Antje Boetius (Director of AWI).
The third part of the event was a moderated discussion on how science and politics can address the new challenges and which communication channels should be kept open.
